This is a quick plug for an organization that is doing some great work, the Wounded Warrior Project. As the holidays are upon us, I’ve been thinking about some ways my children and I can give back. We have a VA hospital about 30 minutes from us, and we are going to make some drawings and go visit for an afternoon with the folks there. We did this once, years ago, and we enjoyed it as much as the veterans. I found the WWP site when I was looking at our hospital information, and found they are having an event in my city in March, so I signed up to volunteer. What’s a half a Saturday of my time to pass out gatorade at an event, or a few minutes during the week asking businesses I patronize to donate goods and services for events? We have a group of traumatized people (mostly young people) who need help reintegrating after doing so much for us. I cannot imagine losing a limb, or two, but these folks do, and carry on. I hope we can help some of them carry on with a bit more help. This is our family Christmas gift.

My son, Sammy and I were wrapping presents together last night ( a first and wonderful experience)
Mom to Sam: If there are really aliens out there in space somewhere, do you think they celebrate anything like we do ?
Sam: Yep`( in a matter of fact tone) I think they’re Jewish.
